Data Collection, Analysis And Application
As an Intelligence Specialist with the U.S. Navy, you will analyze military information to determine the best use of resources and operations to defeat an enemy. This job requires the extensive use of analysis and observation. Intelligence Specialists identify, collect and analyze raw information to determine its relevance to military operations.
Intelligence Specialists also present their findings at briefings and make recommendations. They organize planning materials for photographic reconnaissance missions and then analyze the results of those missions. These presentations often take the form of graphic charts and maps, which plot imagery data. These specialists maintain intelligence files, databases and libraries as well.
Intelligence Is A Job Like No Other
Intelligence Specialists perform their duties on land, at sea and in the air. Commonly working in an office environment, you will work alone and with specialized teams to garner the necessary data. You will be expected to be able to support the mission in whatever way is required. There are intelligence production centers all around the globe.
To apply for a career as an Intelligence Specialist, both you and your immediate family must be U.S. citizens. You must have normal color perception, possess a Top Secret clearance and have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Any moral turpitude charges against you will be cause for disqualification. Your Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) must have a VE and AR score of at least 108. After being granted acceptance, you will attend 89 days of A-School training at Dam Neck, VA.
