Life In ‘Active’ Status Navy Reserve

If you wish to remain on ‘Active’ status in the US Navy, and continue to serve your country with honor, you can do so in the US Navy Reserve. Now is your chance to give back what the US Navy gave you, by staying active in the Navy Reserve … AND enjoying your civilian lifestyle simultaneously. Here’s what you can expect.

Relax Weekdays. Work Weekends

What’s good about a Navy Reserve job is that you work just one weekend a month at a designated Reserve Center, to ensure you are deployment-ready. This means you’ll have the other weekdays to enjoy your civilian life, while still being paid and earning retirement points. However, you can be expected to be recalled to serve in times of crises or war, at any time.

Train Just A Fortnight Per Year

In US Army Reserve, you’ll be required to undergo an annual 2-week training program. Here, you’ll receive extensive training corresponding to your career field, as well as pre-deployment training. And that’s good news, because you’ll have the rest of the year to spend with family and friends, and still earn retirement points and pay.

Enjoy Good Pay And Benefits

Besides a relaxed civilian lifestyle, the Navy Reserve will compensate you well for your weekend work. As such, for each of those 2-day weekends, you’ll receive 4 days of base pay. What’s more, for attending your 2-week annual training, you’ll be compensated with full pay, free meals, good housing, and travel allowances.
