A Top Notch Sailor, An Elite Educator

Do you want to be a teacher but are unsure of how to start your job? Do you want to travel around the world serving something bigger than yourself before you start your career as a teacher? If so, consider a job in the US Navy where you can make an investment in yourself before making an investment in the future generation.

Learning a Trade

The US Navy has set up a program called Troops to Teachers, which allows former members of the US Navy to seamlessly transition from a sailor to an educator. When you join the US Navy, you’ll first enter into basic training where you’ll learn to become a sailor. When you’ve finished your training as a sailor, you’ll be able to go into advanced training where you’ll learn a trade. Hundreds of careers are available within the US Navy, from music to plumbing. Choose one you have a background in or learn something new.  Click Here to begin your US Navy adventure today!

Teaching the Future

After completing your time in the US Navy, you can go back to school to earn your Bachelor’s degree (you’ll even receive college credits for participating in the US Navy) or go straight into the Troops to Teachers Program, if you’ve already got a Bachelor’s degree. In the Troops to Teachers Program, you’ll receive support to gain your teaching credential and a stipend of up to $5,000. Those with a background in science or mathematics are given priority, although all former members of the US Navy are welcome. Click here to start a career with tangible rewards.
